
V J, some people have suggested that Mr. Hogan had many
"secrets" that he revealed in pieces and parts, but never
gave the whole, or as you suggest the "whole puzzle".
Is the position of his right knee as so often featured and discussed
especially in, Afternoons with Mr. Hogan, at least a part of the Puzzle?

The action of the right knee is a result. The knee will basically keep its flex, the knee cap
will rotate, but the use of the right knee is controlled by the sequence and
movement of the center of mass.

The right knee is a result. Meaning, its action is does not create Hogan's pivot.
Keep your mind on the sequence of the pivot motion. Stay away from any "strange" straightening or locking of the right knee.
Jody Vasquez wrote the book on afternoons with Hogan. He has some interesting thoughts on Hogan as one of his club caddies.
I doubt Hogan really wanted to reveal much of anything to anybody. He worked his whole life to figure things out and was a tough guy. He didn't give in and it appears he didn't give us the total information on his "secret".
the rt knee is a starting point or a kick point, Gary Player and VJ Singh use it as do others. Its a way to restrict the hip turn and also keep the position fixed for a weight shift.
Hogan had a baseball or flatter swing plane, hands below shoulder, so he was more in the mid to heel of the right leg.. I think it is more cause than effect,no?

Retaining the right knee flex in the back swing and "running the right knee at the ball" in the downswing puts then keeps the right hip back which allows the arms and hands to approach on a lower, inside path and prevents the sholder from rotating too much through impact. Near impact, if the right elbow angle is retained and the left wrist is bowed-out, the shaft and sholders will be parallel on an inside path. At impact, the left sholder can move up and the right can move down (not rotate) which transfers power to the hands...The cupped left wrist just allowed more wrist-cock at the top.
